The timeless touch found in their latest opus “Galactica” is inspired by the influential music of the 90’s and by the references of contemporary electronic music. Dubs, twitchy beats and rigorously integrated guitar riffs give this opus a great musical contrast. As a result,”Galactika” gives off a graceful and organic warmth that is rarely found in electronic music. Deep, spherical bass sounds, served in a slow tempo, accompanied by colossal groove accompanies Wayne Paul’s striking voice.

The album Ex-Machina was created by a new creative process. Nine songs from Sumo’s repertoire were reinterpreted and produced in an acoustic line. With his band, Sumo composed this album through their musical influences such as soul, funk, jazz, reggae, latin music, blues and rock. This opus is a return to our instruments as expressed in the title – “Ex machina”.

“Over the Beat” is an invitation to Sumo’s musical universe in order to encounter new experiences. This opus is identified through captivating and soulful vocals, an 80ies touch and electronic sounds mixed with Hip-Hop and Deep-House beats. In this album, Sumo invited singers Detroit Grand Pubahs, Lyin M and Mc Granit from the Band Aloan (CH) as well as the swiss musicians Yvan Baumgartner (trumpeter), Ernie Odoom (saxophonist)and Patrick Müller (pianist) from Eric Truffaz.

Sumo released in 2004 on their own label their first album “Before The Sun”. This album contains 15 songs that draw the Sumo universe. Music orchestrating samples, electronic sounds, groovy and deep bass lines accompanied by soul-funk guitars with soulful vocals. An aerial and at the same time aquatic universe is set up. A desire to touch the sky and dive into the depths of sound – in contemplation as in front of the sun.
